|Report (Prepared report)||A document that can be formed based on a set of data obtained from any application, file or DB. Usually a report is generated according to a predefined template, but it can also be built from the application code. The report can be interactive and rebuilt (modified) according to the user’s commands (manipulations). A prepared report is a generated document saved in the internal format of the report generation system. The prepared report cannot be rebuilt or modified, but it can be used to generate export to files of other formats.|
|Template||A predefined layout for generating a report. The template can be stored in a file, DB or network resource. A report template can contain links to external data, their description, parameters, and a script. To edit the template, a special program can be used — the designer.|
|Export||A document or file in any format generated on the basis of the prepared report. For example, these are files in PDF, Excel, JPEG, etc. A file can be simultaneously generated and sent as an e-mail message or saved to network repositories.|
|Designer||A program for creating and editing report templates. Can be installed on a computer or run in a browser (an online designer).|
